FAQ
Lead-gen services sell contact information and typically require your team to run intake from scratch. Mighty Counsel is a law firm, and every potential client in our pipeline has been through Mighty's AI intake system and has actively chosen to seek representation. They also often require a commitment and minimum monthly spend. We require neither.
Today, only car accident cases are shared through the Marketplace where you submit your fee and the client chooses which firm to connect to. Other case types, like slip & fall, products liability, medical malpractice, etc. are sent directly to firms in our network based on best fit for the client's needs.
Nothing. There is no application fee, no commitment and no charge to receive and review cases from the network. Mighty Counsel is compensated only when your firm settles a case that we referred to you.
Mighty Counsel earns a referral fee, paid as a 40% split (excluding FL and LA) of the handling attorney's contingency fee, consistent with standard industry referral arrangements.
Because we guarantee our clients that they'll pay less than the industry-standard 33%, all signed client retainers must not exceed 32% (pre-lit). If you offer a pre-lit fee of 33% or higher and the client selects your firm, we'll require you sign the client at 32% and we'll reduce our referral fee proportionally so that your firm receives the same net dollar amount as the original fee you proposed.
Reviewing a case package takes minutes, not an intake cycle. Every case includes the key facts attorneys need to make a fast decision. If a case isn't a fit, you'll know quickly. If you submit a proposal and aren't selected, you've spent a few minutes — far less than a cold intake call. Over time, you'll see your proposal history and acceptance rate, so the channel becomes predictable.
Some will. We encourage firms to offer the most competitive rate they can, especially given that much of the early intake and case-building work may already be completed through Mighty's AI-driven process. But firms are not competing on price alone. Your proposal also gives you the opportunity to explain your experience, track record, and why your firm is the right fit for the client's case. That said, if your economics require a fee that won't be competitive on a given case, you can simply decline the opportunity. There is never any obligation to participate.
Yes. We're happy to walk you through a redacted sample case file on a short call so you can see exactly what arrives at your inbox.
For these cases, we suggest setting a "Settlement Floor," which is the portion of the client's settlement that is excluded from your contingency fee. For example, if the client has an existing $10k offer, setting a $10k Settlement Floor means your fee applies only to the amount recovered above $10,000.
We connect you directly with the client and provide the full case file — name, contact information, and all documentation we've gathered. From there, you handle the remainder of intake, retainer signing, and representation as you normally would.
Mighty Counsel's referral fee structure mirrors standard attorney referral arrangements, which are permissible in most jurisdictions when properly disclosed. We provide model disclosure language and a retainer rider that satisfies disclosure requirements, and our structure is reviewed on a jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction basis.
